HOTEL GUEST HEALTH NOTIFICATION
Recently, the New York State Department of Health and Albany County Department of Health were notified that six persons who stayed at the Best Western Sovereign Hotel dating back to August 2011 were diagnosed with Legionnaires’ Disease, also called legionellosis (a potentially serious form of pneumonia caused by Legionella bacteria). MORE DETAILS »

Open Casting Call for Albany County Emergency Preparedness Commercials

Albany County is working with the production agency Social Interactive to produce a series of three commercials to educate and motivate residents to prepare for emergencies and is looking for local talent to audition.

 

Trans Fat Eliminated from County Restaurants
The use of artificial trans fats in local restaurants and other food service establishments in Albany County was eliminated in 2009. Limiting overall fat intake and eliminating trans fat is part of a heart healthy diet.
