Albany County offers a myriad of opportunities to businesses in the Capital Region including our growing Empire Zones Program. The Economic Development office participates in business attraction and retention efforts, which work within the overall economic development framework of the entire County. The County strives to address the needs and problems of current and prospective Albany County employers, and to identify properties suitable for economic development. The Office of Economic Development supports the County Executive and Legislature in coordinating economic development initiatives and works to create an environment that is conducive to business expansion and job growth. The Office of Economic Development is responsible for the administration of the County's Empire Zone Program.
