The departments and offices of Albany County offer a wide variety of services and run many programs aimed at helping residents in their daily lives, promoting business growth in the region, and improving the health and welfare of everyone living or working in Albany County. We also contract with outside providers to bring additional programs and services to you.

One of the many goals of AlbanyCounty.com is to offer online access to information regarding the government resources available to County residents and to those looking to do business in our county. We are also expanding the number of services we can offer you entirely online.

On this page you will find links to other locations on AlbanyCounty.com that can help you find the programs or services that you need. We organized the information on this page in a few different ways to help you find what you're looking for. There are "Resource Area" links that will take you to portals with alphabetical listings of all the programs and services in a particular area; there are department links -- also organized by category -- that will bring you to individual department's pages where you can more thoroughly browse their offerings; and there is a search function that will allow you to search all County programs and services at once.

To browse an alphabetical list of programs from a particular resource area, please click the title of the area you're interested in. You also can visit a specific department by clicking that department's name in the lists below. To search our programs and services listings, use the search feature in the sidebar.

Albany County Notice of Privacy Practices:

As of April 14, 2003, all Albany County departments are in compliance with the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) to protect your personal health information.

Four of our departments have a "direct treatment relationship" with patients and are offering printer-friendly, online versions of their Notice of Privacy Practices. These notices describe how health information about you may be used or disclosed, and how you can gain access to your information.

*These notices are in PDF format, and each is 203 KB in size. You will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader plug-in. Most newer Web browsers (such as Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator) already have the plug-in installed. If you aren't sure whether you have "Acrobat Reader" on your machine, we recommend that you try to view the document anyway. Then, if you discover that you can't, you can get the FREE plug-in you need from the Adobe Acrobat site by clicking here, or visiting www.adobe.com and looking for the link to their "Free Adobe Acrobat Reader."
